Sunday's Bits & Pieces #9

Happy Sunday!

Today i have made a card from the bits & pieces in my embellishment drawer and paper scraps. I found in my drawer several pink felt flowers, already die cut. Instead of layering the flowers on the card, i pinched and gathered each flower and stitched until each was secure. I also found a die cut shape in a nice green and i stamped the sentiment You Are Special to Me.
Next i had some fabric that i had die cut several times that were an experiment. I stamped a text background on each and then layered them on my cardbase. Above the fabric i added some text tissue tape.

Then i added the green label with pop up dots and then die cut some leaves from green scrap paper. Last i adhered the felt flowers beside the green label.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Sunday's Bits & Pieces #8

Happy Sunday!!

I hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday. A little bit raining here, but at least i don;t feel guilty crafting all day!!  Today i have a super quick card for Sunday's Bits & Pieces, it also ties in with CAS-ural Friday's Tie One On Challenge.  I have been very busy this week working on cards for PaperCrafts Stamping Royalty Contest and some baby shower goodies for a friends sister. I'm making place cards and a banner, she is having a little girl later this year. It is going to be so cute, but don;t worry i will take some pictures and show you when its done!!

Ok, enough talking lets get to the card. The CAS-ual challenge this week is to use ribbon. Well i have LOTs of ribbon! (all because of that crafty hoarder in me, you never know when you'll NEED that exact color of ribbon, right?!?! :)  )  Along with plenty of ribbon i have lots of pieces of ribbon, ones that are not small enough to throw away and can be used ( I swear!!). So i have a jar that i put them in and i look there first when i need ribbon. So i grabbed the ribbon jar and used several pieces to make a rainbow of sorts card.

It's super easy, i laid out a few choices and when i was happy with the placement i used double sided tape and adhered them to the card. Last i stamped the sentiment You Color My World in black ink. That's it!

This is great way to use up your ribbon scraps, i think i will make a set with a birthday sentiment and use up more ribbon!

Have a great day!!

Sunday's Bits & Pieces #7

Hi,

Happy Sunday!! I dug deep in my embellishment drawer for today's card. I found this cute pattern paper with cards & trucks. And with the paper piecing challenge at CAS-ual Friday, i new this paper would be great with PTI's small little truck stamp. I also found a brown oval and from my jar of ribbon pieces i found a thin strip of muslin.

First i stamped the truck image on the pattern paper and cut it out. Next i wiped the brown oval on a black ink pad. I die cut a tag from kraft and adhered the oval and truck to the tag. Then i used the strip of muslin and tied it around the top

Next i placed the tag on my cardbase and with a pencil marked the basic outline of the tag with a small line on each side. I stamped a paint splatter around the outline, making sure just a little was outside my lines. Last i adhered the tag with pop up dots and stamped Happy Birthday below the tag.

CAS-ual Friday - Love Ya to Pieces

Hello,

Wow this week has been crazy! Class, tests, essays and of course busy, busy at work. I'm glad it's the weekend, time to relax and do some crafts!! Today i have a card for CAS-ual Friday (paper piecing) and for PTI's heart challenge.

I started with a heart stamp from PTI and PTI's heart die. It's close but the stamp (a poka-dot circle with heart inset) just covers the heart. I stamped it 3 times on cardstock and again 3 times on pattern paper. Next i cut out one heart from from the music pattern paper and 2 from the striped paper. I added the pattern hearts over the blank stamped hearts with pop up dots.

I inked the edges of the hearts and cardbase with distress ink. With the music heart i threaded some twine under the heart and tied a tiny bow. Then i grouped them on my kraft card base. Last i stamped forever below the hearts.

Thanks for stopping by!

PTI's 5th Anniversary Day 1 Challenge

Hello,

Today kicks off PTI's 5th Anniversary countdown to this months release. I found PTI a little bit before last years anniversary and have fallen in love with all their products. For the next few days they are having sneak peaks and lots of prizes so be sure to check it out!

Today the challenge is to use one of the design teams favorite project as inspiration. My inspiration came from Ashley Cannon Newells card. She used the banner builder collection and i haven't used mine in awhile, so i started with them.

I wanted to do a baby card so i found some cute pattern paper and die cut a few triangles from the banner builder collection. Next i adhered each triangle to muslin and cut each on out, lightly fraying the edges. Then adhered each triangle to twine across the card.

With spring moss ink i stamped a fillable frame and then with autumn rose ink stamped Welcome Little One.

Have a great day!

CAS-ual Fridays and Sunday's Bits & Pieces #6

Hello!

Today i have a card for CAS-ual Friday along with this Sunday's Bits & Pieces. First i have to say that the photos aren't the greatest, but when i used my photo program to adjust the light, it washed out the file.

This weeks challenge at CAS-ual Friday is to make a card inspired by a movie. The movie is the X-Files. I'm a fan of the TV show and the movies. I knew i had a file die and it got me thinking.

I didn;t have any paper that matched a file folder, so i just grabbed one and cut it in half. I then folded it in half and placed the die at the fold, using a piece of tape to hold it place while i ran it threw my Big Shot.

Next i used a square stamp, inked in red. Then used a tiny alphabet to spell out Top Secret. With a bigger alphabet set i stamped a black X on the file tap. I cut 2 pieces of white card stock to fill my file. For my cardbase i used a piece of black cardstock from my scrap pile (luckily i had a big enough piece to make a card). I adhered the file to the card with pop up dots.
