Pink & Green

Hello!

Happy Saturday and Labor Day weekend!! I was crafty yesterday and completed a few cards for some challenges, 2 which end tomorrow. I'm sharing the 1st card today for Tuesday Morning Sketches. I am also submitting this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

I really love how this card came together. I had no real plan other then the sketch, but i got really lucky that the colors i colored the lady with, i was able to find matching paper and enamel dots! You would have thought i gathered them 1st, but nope, just winged it!

I started by stamping and embossing the kitty and lady on watercolor paper. I colored them with distress markers. I already had the heart die cut out, it was just hanging out on my desk!! LOL I adhered it over the kitty and lady.

Next i adhered the pattern paper to my cardbase. I also cut 2 pieces of twill ribbon (3 wouldn;t fit on the card) I adhered these to my cardbase, adding enamel dots.

Last i adhered the heart panel to the card base with foam tape and added a few enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I have some exciting news coming up, i'll have a big announcement Tuesday!!

Get Well Soon

Hi!!

Well the new semester has started!! Is it December yet?!?!  LOL Today i have a card i made pre-PTI stamping marathon and just remembered i needed to get it up on the blog and submitted to Avery Elle's Challenge.

The challenge is this sketch, designed by my good friend Nina Yang!

I stamped the flower with some Hero Arts ink, several times to get the color darker. I rounded the corners and stamped the sentiment.

Then i die cut the leaves, then i embossed them twice with green embossing powder. I adhered some ribbon to my cardbase, added the leaves and adhered the flower panel with foam tape!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Merry Little Christmas

Hi!!

Well this is my last card for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-faire! It's been fun, tried new things and now i have to clean up my craft table!!!

This challenge is the Gallon, Quart, Pint. You use 3 colors, the Gallon color you use the most, then Quart a little less and finally use the Pint color adding just a touch.

For my card i used Red, Green and Yellow. I die cut 3 poinsettias and stamped them red. I also die cut the matching leaves and and flower centers. Then i stamped them green and yellow. I added glitter to the flower centers.

After arranged the flowers on my cardbase, i didn;t thing think there was enough red, so i added 3 stripes of washi tape.

Last i stamped the sentiment at the bottom.

I hope you have a great day!!!

Hi Sweetie!

Hi!!

I'm back with another card for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-faire. This card is for the Sent-sational Card Challenge. The challenge was to make a scratch-n-sniff card.

I used the recipe provided and used some Strawberry-Kiwi mix that you put in a water bottle. And i decided to make an easy one layer card. I made the card last night after work and when i took pictures this morning i scratched it and it still smells like strawberry!! So cool!

I stamped the strawberry image with red ink, then stamped the greenery with green ink. Then i stamped the strawberry again with versamark ink and added my custom embossing powder!

You really can't tell that it is embossed, there is no shine, but it is gritty to touch. And of course it smells nice when you scratch it!! :)

Last i stamped the sentiment and rounded the bottom corners!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Nut'n Better

Hi!!

Here's another card for Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-faire. Its for the Customs Accents from the Oven Challenge. I die cut and stamped several different elements from shrinky dink material. I used Stazon ink when stamping and Sharpie markers to color some of the images.

Here is a before picture:

And here is after baking:

I decided to to use the little acorns for my card. I stamped several acorn in a row. Then tied tiny twine bows and adhered the shrinky dink acrons in the center of each. Next i adhered these bows to the stamped panel.

Then i used Classic Kraft ink to ink up two strips of cardstock and i placed these below and above the acorn panel.

Last i stamped the sentiment and adhered the panel with foam dots.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Oh What Fun

Good Morning!!

Today i have another card for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-faire. This one is for the Sprinkle of Salt Challenge.  This challenge didn;t turn out very well for me. I think the reasons are 1. regular salt (they used sea salt) and 2. I used too much salt. Regardless i really like how it turned out!

I cut a piece of watercolor paper and stamped 3 rustic snowflakes and my sentiment with versamark ink. I embossed them with clear sparkle embossing powder. Then i used Enchanted Evening and Blueberry sky Ink with water to color the panel.

Then when it was still mostly wet i added the salt. I think too much as i only had the nice molting look in 2 spots (see the close ups!)

Next i added white gems to the center of each snowflake. Last i adhered the panel on a kraft cardbase with foam dots.

Thanks for stopping by!! (yes there still 3 (i think) Stamp-a-faire cards to come today!!)

At Home For Christmas

Hello!

Another card for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-faire. This one is for the Rolled Design Challenge. They used a medium called Paperclay, which is not available at local craft stores, so instead i used white polymer clay that you have to bake in the oven.

I kneed it a bit and then using a large misting bottle and rolled it as thin as i could. I pressed the dies into the clay, then used a craft knife to cut the clay. I did 3 hearts and 3 candles. With the hearts i stamped a crackle background with Kraft ink. The candles i used red, blue and green ink to stamp the candles, orange for the flame.

Here is a before picture:

Now i've never used clay before and after baking it for 15 minutes they were still soft, so i baked them for another 15 minutes. By this time they were a little more harder and not so white any more. I guess they harden when the cool? LOL

Here is the after picture:

I didn;t like how the candles turned out, but i liked that the hearts looked a little aged being the light tan color, so i used them for my card.

I stamped the pine branches off on scrap paper then on my cardbase. Then i stamped the sentiment at the bottom.

I stamped the stocking and mitten, then adhered them and the hearts to twine. I adhered it all across my cardbase and added tiny twine bows at each end.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Sending Holiday Cheer

Hi!!

Yep another card for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-faire. This one is for the Tea Stain Challenge.

The only tea in the house was Green Tea that my mom drinks on occasion, which would stain much! So instead i used a coffee bag that we had when my Grandpa visited. I boiled the water, added the coffee bag and then the muslin. I let it sit over night, then let the drier dry it.

I used Papertrey Ink's flower dies and die cut several from 2 sizes of the dies. I used Classic Kraft ink and added a little more distressing to the fabric, as i didn;t get any dark patches. I layered the flowers and added a clear vintage button. Then i added a little bit more ink to the flower!

Next i die cut a PTI tag from Kraft cardstock, inked the edges. I cut a thin strip of muslin, inked it up a little and added it to the top of the tag.

I found some red and white zig-zag pattern paper, inked the edges and adhered it to my cardbase. I stamped the sentiment on the tag and added the flower. Then i adhered the tag with foam dots.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Merry Christmas

Hi!!!

Yep another card for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-faire! This one is for the Limited Ingredients Challenge.

PTI supplied a list of ingredients that we had to use and could only add neutral colors/ink. Luckily you didn;t have to use all the ingredients! I used Aqua Mist cardstock, Soft Stone 1" strip (i don;t have the cardstock, so i used my ink to color the strip), Melon Berry & Harvest Gold ink and some glitter glue.

I stamped the flowers in Harvest Gold and Melon Berry, all on white cardstock, then i added a little bit of glitter glue to the flowers centers. I stamped the sentiment Merry Christmas in Smokey Shadow ink. I rounded the top corners and adhered it to my cardbase.

Next i inked a 1" strip with Soft Stone, and as i did that i accidentally creased the cardstock (it softens a bit with the ink.) Rather then starting over, i creased the rest of the strip and ended up liking it! I thought it added some nice texture! I added the strip over the bottom part of my flower panel with foam dots.

Have a great day!!

Peace

Hey there!!

Here's another card for PTI's Stamp-a-Faire! This one is for the Sugar Coated Embellishments. Easy to do and a great way to add some bling!!

I die cut the word Peace from red cardstock and then ran it through a sticker machine. I added glitter all over the sticky side of the word, pressing the glitter in to make sure it sticks good.

Next i stamped a pine needle branch several times across my cardbase. Next i stamped the sentiment 'on earth, good will toward men.' on a strip of red cardstock. I then adhered it across my cardbase.

Last i adhered the glittered Peace with foam tape!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Papertrey Ink August Blog Hop

Hi!

Its time for Papertrey Ink's August Blog Hop. I've been busy working on Stamp-a-faire cards its almost 12:30 and i have 3 more to go! I hope get them done and take photo's of everything before going  work at 2:30. Then tonight i can start posting them!!

I completed this card a few day's ago knowing i'd be busy with Stamp-a-faire cards. PTI provided several options for inspiration, each one included a photo, color suggestions and a sketch. This is the one that i picked:

PTI-fast-food-5
I took a pretty literal take on the sketch, can you tell? :D Ha Ha!!  I stamped the stripes, one in each color on the cardbase.

Then i trimmed a piece of cardstock several times to get 1/4 wide strips. This is the same width as my small double sided tape and i placed it along each strip. Then i poured glitter over each strip, lightly pressing the glitter into each strip.

Next i adhered the strips to the card to the cardbase over the space between the stamped strips. Last i stamped the sentiment above the pink strip.

Love and Cheer

Hi there!

I have another card for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-faire, this one for the Mixing Mists to Match. I used a mini mister from Tim Holtz, but found that it really was too small, but it works. I'll have to keep my eye out for a bigger size.

I filled the mister almost all the way up with the rubbing alcohol then added the Pure Poppy reinkers. I only got 50 drops, but had to pore a little out as it was over flowing. When i spritzed my cardstock, its more pink then red, but i sure if i find a bigger spritz or use less alcohol next time, it should come out more red.

Before spritzing my cardstock, i stamped and embossed the sentiment with brown ink. Then i spritzed, i liked how it looked with only a few spritz, but for this i wanted a more solid color.

After letting it dry ( it didn't take long!) I added brown rhinestones to the periods in the sentiment. Last i added the twine where the stamp had lines.

Thanks for stopping by!! I'll be making more cards tomorrow for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-Faire!!

Hope you are having a great day!! I'm here with my first card for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-faire. I have to go to work in thirty minutes :( but early this afternoon i got a the tea staining and misting started, then i got to make a couple cards to start with. I hope to have another card late tonight when i get home and of course more tomorrow and Monday!!

This card is for the Breakfast Bake and Take.

I used this color inspiration:
Color-Recipe-6

An this sketch:
SAF2013-Sketch-7

This was a quick easy card. I stamped the background in a blue medallion stamp. I added dark green scroll work over the blue background.

I die cut a banner and stamped my sentiment. Then i stamped the Christmas Cheer in red ink, punching it out with a 1 3/4 punch.

I adhered the background panel, then the sentiment and circle over it with foam tape.

Wow A Perfect Match

Hi!!

Here is my second card like i promised this morning. This card i did for The Curtain Call Challenge - Carnival. The stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop, Admit One is perfect for this challenge!

I stamped the Admit One Tickets on some red cardstock and cut them out. Next i stamped the 2 stars in the set all over the Kraft cardbase with versamark.

Now i originally planned on stamping the sentiment WOW in white ink, but when i stamped 'a perfect match' over it, the sentiment was hard to read.

Sooooo.... to plan B!!! I stamped the Wow in grey ink, the rest of the sentiment in black ink. I stamped the sentiment on teal blue cardstock.

I adhered the tickets with foam tape and adhered the blue cardstock strip across them.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I'll be back tomorrow with several posts for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-faire!

Great Job

Good Morning!!

Today i have 2 cards to share, i'll be back later today with the second. I want to get them both in today since i plan on participating Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-faire this weekend, so the blog will be hopping!!!

With this card i some how managed to combine 3 challenges (don;t ask me how, it just all came together!!)

                                                               Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

To start with i stamped and colored the teacher image from Paper Smooches and cut it out. I also stamped the notebook page (the paper for CAS-ology Challenge). I cut the page out also, and placed it in the teachers hand.

To incorporate yellow twine, i added several eyelets and threaded yellow twine through them. At the very bottom i tied the twine in a small bow.

Last i stamped the sentiment Great Job

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back later today with my second card!!

Oh No You Dit-ten

Hey!!

How's everyone doing!?! Its been a few days, i was working on some design work for Hampton Art that had to get done quick, after i finished that i decided to get my normal assignment done also. I finished yesterday and wanted to get photos before going to work. And since i was taking picture i decided to do up a quick card for the blog.

I looked at what i had on my desk and found a stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop that had chevrons i could color with some Neon color pencils. After i stamped the chevrons and colored them, i used a sentiment from Paper Smooches.

At this point i thought it still needed something, but didn;t want to mess up the card as i need to get my pictures taken. But then it came to me to try some sequins. I found the lightly pink iridescent sequins a couple of weeks ago with my jewelry making stuff and after put a few on my card i thought it looked good and finished!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Twine Flowers

Hello!!

It's almost Friday!!! And the day's are ticking down for the start of the Fall semester :( Today i have a card that made for The Twinery's Inspired by Pinterest Challenge.

I used this picture for my inspiration.

orange

To start i picked out the pink pillow, blue side table, and dark pink flowers and matched them to The Twinery twine.

I decided to make flowers, so punched 3 small circles and adhered matching rhinestones to the center of each circle. Then with some glossy accents for glue, i adhered the twine around the rhinestone layer by layer.

Next to pull in the color and pattern of couch, i found some yellow cardstock and stamped it with a background stamp with orange ink. I trimmed the panel a little shorter then my cardbase, but when i placed it on the cardbase it was too much yellow/orange, so i cut the panel in thirds and trimmed off a little extra.

But it still wasn;t enough white, the photo has a lot of white from the floor to the wall. So i punched a white border and placed this across the card. Then i stamped the sentiment Happy Birthday and adhered my flowers along with some die cut leaves.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
