Today i have 2 cards!! I couldn;t just choose which one to show you, so i'm going to show you both!! I'm entering my second card at Seize the Sketch!!

For my first card i stamped the strawberry image several times from the Tooty Fruity set, colored them and cut them out. Next i used PTI basket die and cut one from brown card stock.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

The side of the basket has a tab on the side (usually you cut 4 and assemble) and i scored it at the baskets edge, then i scored the tab again. This second tab is what i adhered to the card base. I 'filled' the basket with strawberries and adhered the basket flap with foam tape, trimming off the extra.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I adhered the remaining strawberry's on top of the basket and at the bottom on top of the basket (like they fell off the top of the basket). I used the U and R from Gabfest and the Berry Special from Tooty Fruity, and stamped them all above the basket.

For my second card i used this sketch from Seize the Sketch Challenge:

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I trimmed some mint wood pattern paper and rounded the corners. Then i stamped the square strip with the pattern from Bot Time. Next i stamped the cuuuute peaches on pattern paper and colored them with my distress markers.

I gathered the peaches together and tied a black twine bow at their stems. Then i adhered them to the card. Last i stamped the sentiment Hope You're Peachy.

Cure For The Monday Blues Challenge #2

Hey there!!

I'm popping in real quick with a card i made for the Cure For The Monday Blue's Challenge #2! I also was playing with some stencils and embossing paste. I used a technique used in The Online Card Class - Stenciled for day 3.

First i used a some white embossing paste and mixed in some light pink acrylic paint. Then i used the paste on a damask pattern stencil. Let it dry, and oh my the texture!!!
Dana Warren - Paper Kraft Stamps
The inspiration photo had a pop of green so i added some bright green trim to my card. Cut down the damask pattern and added it to my card base too. The photo has a lot of white and pink, so i did the same in my card.

I stamped and colored the cute little unicorn (pink of course!! lol), cut her out and adhered her to my card. Last i used some wood veneer shapes (have no idea what shape this would be called, they are not really stars....) and covered them with pink glitter glue!

I hope you will stop and submit a card to the Cure For The Monday Blue's Challenge#2!! Its the brain child of my good friend Taheerah Atchia!

The Alley Way Stamps - Sneak Peek #1

Hey there!!

Today kicks of The Alley Way Stamps February Release Sneak Peeks!!! You are going to LOVE February's release!!! I'm giving you a sneak of Speak Easy!

This set is made up of sentiments! And for my card i used the sentiment Flying By To Say Hi. I first stamped it in pink, then covered the rest of the card base with the sentiment but in blue ink.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Next i stamped the hot air balloon from the Lighter Then Air set 3 times on vellum. I colored the balloons with distress markers. I used a white opaque pen to color the scallops on the basket.

Then i cut each out and ran them through my sticker machine. But i turned over the vellum first. I wanted a softer look, so my stamping and coloring is on the bottom and the 'wrong' side is on top.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Last i adhered each balloon to my card base, trimming the one balloon that was over the edge. Since this card is one layer, its perfect to just pop in the mail to send to your favorite little gal or guy!

That's all from me today! Stop by The Alley Way Stamps blog for more sneak peeks from the other design team ladies! You can also win a new stamp set while you are there!! And Friday is release day, lots of sneaks until then!!

Stenciled Day 1 & 2

Hey there!

Today i have a quick post to share 2 card i made this weekend for Online Card Class: Stenciled. I'ts been a busy couple days and today looks to be another one!! Tomorrow i'll be able to relax a little and watch the remaining Stenciled videos.

First my day 1 card. I went with inking and instead of a typical plastic stencil i used a die cut as a stencil.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I die cut the birch trees from thin copy paper and inked it up on the textured side of some watercolor paper. I used black, purple and blue distress inks.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Then i found a purple satin flower that i made several, several months ago and i added a few french knots to the flower center and added it to the tree panel. I also added some black twine loops and last stamped the sentiment You Are Simply Wonderful.

Day 2 Card. I really loved the sketching look done by Kristina so i tried it out myself. I used a stripe stencil from SSS and Inktense pencils. I sketched each line to make the rainbow background.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I stamped the cute little skunk also by SSS and colored him with my inktence pencils. I really am going to have to use these pencils again, they work so well!! I also stamped and colored a couple hearts from the same set.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I added the skunk and hearts to the stripe background with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment and last added a few enamel dots!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Tomorrow i'll be back with The Alley Way Stamp Sneak Peek!!!

Cure For The Monday Blues Challenge

Hey there!!

Today i am playing along with a brand spanking new challenge by my good friend Taheerah Atchia!!! Its called Cure For The Monday Blues Challenge!! Taheerah will choose a photo inspiration each Monday, all to get us card makers out of the Monday Blues!! You have until this Sunday 4 pm EST to play along with the first challenge!!!

This is the photo inspiration for the 1st challenge:

When i made my card i did most of it by memory. First i cut a piece of watercolor paper, added some water too it and then painted a bit with some pink, orange and yellow watercolors.

Next i stamped some silver stars. I want to note that i didn;t wait for the watercolors to dry when i started to stamp, the paper wasn;t runny but it wasn;t totally dry. I liked how the ink bleeds just a tiny bit.

After i stamped the stars, i stamped the flower wreath and sentiment in black ink. Then i added a few sequins. But i still felt like it needed something, so i checked out the inspiration photo again and i saw the yellow ribbon and added something similar to my card!

I hope you will play along with Taheerah's challenge!! Thanks for stopping by!

Re-Be Inspired Challenge #46

Hiya!

Today i'm sharing a card for The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge #46! Make sure you play along for you chance for a prize!!

I took inspiration from the colors and the strips. I found some paper scraps that matched the colors the best and i cut them in small strips. I then just threw them on my card base, moved one or two around but left them pretty much were they laid.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

With these different colors i thought the True Color set was perfect. I stamped the paint brush and colored it with distress markers. I die cut a tiny tag and stamped the sentiment color and then tied it to the paint brush. I adhered the paint brush with foam tape.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I stamped the first part of the sentiment above the strips and because i got a little ink at the bottom of the card i used the ink blot stamp to make some blots to hide my mistake!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

For You

Hey Everyone!!

Today i have a card to share for Penny Black's Sending Hugs Challenge. The challenge is to create a project for anyone with a friend or love theme.

With my card i didn;t make it overly love but i went with pink colors and an image that i thought would be great for a little girl. I stamped the image on watercolor paper and colored it with distress markers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Next i used a Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil and some glitter glue. I used a paint brush to dab on the glitter glue. To me it looks like bubbles! You can see what i mean in the close up below.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I matted the panel on dark pink cardstock, then wrapped some hand dyed seam binding around it and tied it in a small bow. I also die cut a tiny tag and small heart. I stamped the sentiment for you and then added the tiny heart. I added the tag to the bow and adhered the panel to my Kraft card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Ombre Get Well

Hey there!!

Today i'm sharing a card i made for Fusion Card Challenge! I went with the color part of the challenge! As i started making the card i realized that i had the perfect pop of yellow for my card!! I have several old button cards on my desk. These are really cool old buttons that i have been wanting to use for some time! And i remembered there were 2 yellow buttons that would be perfect AND they get off my desk too!!
To start i used a background from The Alley Way Stamps, Bitty Borders set! I decided to do an ombre effect, i just continue to stamp all the way to the top without re-inking!  Now that i think about it, all the elements i used on this card were things that were already made! Score!! The banner and flowers were already die cut.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I stamped the sentiment on the banner. I added the flowers to my card base with foam tape and adhered the banner. Last i added the yellow buttons!

Hang In there

Hey there!!

Yay!!! Its the weekend!! I'm ready, its hard to get back into the swing of things!! Today i have a card to share that i entering into Tiddly Inks Challenge - Clean and Simple. I already entered one card, you can see it here. And after i had made that card i used another stamp in the set, colored it and made it into a card the next day. This second card is also Clean and Simple, i couldn;t find a rule about the number of submission, so i figured i'd enter it too.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

To start i die cut some watercolor paper and stamped the image. Next i found some pattern paper that i wanted to use, so when i colored the image i tried to match the colors. The one of the papers have small triangles in yellow and green, and of course the blue of the papers. I stamped the sentiment below the cute little doggy!!

Next i trimmed some pattern paper to fit my Kraft card base. Then i die cut two strips, the die is an old label like die (like back when the company was called Quick Kutz!!)
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

I added the two strips to my card base, then adhered the colored die cut with foam tape. Last i added a few enamel dots that matched!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Burn Bright

Hey there!!

I'm sharing a card today that i made for the Seize The Sketch Challenge! This is the sketch:

For my card i flipped the sketch up and then instead of slapping on a notched banner i created one with ink. I used some copy paper (b/c its thin) and trimmed it to the width that would fit my stamps and then i notched one end. I used a little repositionable adhesive and adhered it to some pattern paper.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Then i used 3 distress ink pads and my blending tool to add the 'halo' around the banner. I pulled up the banner and decided to keep it to use on another card! Next i stamped the light bulb from The Alley Way Stamps Lighter Then Air set. I colored the light bulb with distress markers, using the same colors as the 'halo'
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps

Next i rounded the corners of my pattern paper and adhered it to my kraft card base. Last i added 3 wood star veneers. I thought about added glitter to them or color, but decided that anything more what take away from my inking!

I also want to mention that this month is The Alley Way Stamps 3rd birthday and to celebrate, there is a coupon good for January, 25% off your purchase, use code TAWSbirthday3 at checkout!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
