Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I'm showcasing the new Chick Magnet stamp set. I just love the Chick Magnet sentiment and i thought it would make a cute little baby card (ok the card isn't really little, its 5 x 7)! I started by cutting a baby onesie with my Silhouette. And since my laptop and Silhouette was out i used the matching SVG cut file to cut out all the images in the Chick Magnet set, this will save me time down the road as i use these stamps for future cards!

I stamped the cute little chick on his matching SVG cut out. I also stamped the baseball hat. I colored both with distress markers. I placed the chick on the onesie and then stamped the sentiment in versamark ink. I removed the chick and embossed the sentiment in white.

Next i used Baby Talk to make the Welcome Little One sentiment and stamped and embossed it on the inside of the card! Baby Talk has so many options so you could say almost anything on the inside!

Last i adhered the hat to the chick and then added the chick to the onesie with foam tape! And wa-la a super cute baby card!

Merry & Bright

Hello,

Today i'm sharing a fun and easy card or well several cards!! I am CASEing Jessi card, click here to check it out (its amazing!!).
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black
I started by cutting some strips from Christmas pattern paper in different widths. Then i cut them at different length, notching the ends. Next i made several card bases from white card stock, mostly vertical with one horizontal.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black
Then i used a Penny Black stamp that i new was perfect! I thought of it as soon as i saw Jessi's card! I inked a couple different stamps with a light brown ink, then cut them out.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black

Next it was only a matter of arranging the banners and sentiment to my liking. I used double sided tape to adhere each layer including the sentiment. Jessi stitched her banners and sentiment, but i decided to go an easier way by adding a little bit of glue just above the banner, then running brown bakers twine along it wrapping it around the card and tying in a bow.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Penny Black
I decided to use up all the strips i cut and i ended up with 6 cards. And of course a few days later i found the same paper already in strips left over from some long ago project!! :D

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Be Inspired Challenge #59 Take 2

Hi!!

I'm stopping by today with a card for The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenge. The inspiration is fall theme, but its not fall around here anymore! So i used the glitter leafs and turned them into glitter snowflakes! Here is the photo inspiration:

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I first die cut 3 snowflakes from some adhesive cardstock. I pulled off the backing and added glitter to the adhesive side. I like to press the glitter into the glue to help the glitter stick! I set them aside to make my card base.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I started with a white card stock and then pulled out the TAWS Line Upon Line set. I inked it up with grey ink and stamped it on the card base. Then i inked up the stamp with white pigment ink. I stamped it over the grey, but just slightly off set.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i stamped the Let's Chill sentiment from the Chill Out set in grey ink. I stamped it again with black ink to get a shadow. Last i added the glitter snowflakes to the card base.

I hope you stop by the Be Inspired Challenge and play along!

The Alley Way Stamps - Sneak Peek #1

Hello!!

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope everyone has a wonderful day with lots of food and family!!! I'll be eating lots of turkey and pumpkin pie then going to work (i work in retail). In the meantime i'm sharing a Sneak Peek of The Alley Way Stamps December release!! Today's set is called With Wondering Awe and it's a super cute set!!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I started by using my Silhouette to cut several sheep from white card stock. I stamped the sheep on each one and then used copic markers to color them. To create a herd of sheep i added them to my card base in several rows.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I cut a strip of white card stock and stamped the sentiment Have You Herd? in black ink. I added this to the card with foam dots. Next i stamped the tiny holly cluster from the Breakfast Club, colored them with copic markers and cut them out. I added them to a few sheep and the sentiment.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
On the inside i answered the sentiments question by using alpha stickers to spell out It's Christmas Time! I just love how this card turned out!!

Owl I Want for Chrismtas

Hello!!

I'm stopping in today with a card i made for the Lawnscaping Challenge and yep another Christmas card!! (there's going to be a lot of them for awhile now!!) :) The challenge is to use numbers and i had planned to use some alpha stickers since i have a ton of numbers i never use. But i spied some pattern paper that had numbers on it, so used that instead!

I trimmed down the pattern paper, rounded two of the corners. I decided to use a red card stock and added a strip of gold sparkle washi tape off to one side. I added the pattern paper to the other side with only a small portion covering the gold.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn
The used the Lawn Fawn Winter Owl stamp set, cutting, coloring and then cutting out the cute owl. Next i cut a circle from white cardstock, then i stamped the sentiment and hearts. I used gold smooches to color the hearts.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Lawn Fawn

I found a piece of brown paper and hand cut a branch. I added the circle to my card with foam dots, then added the branch and owl.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

You're Tea-riffic

Hiya!!

I'm playing along with Addicted to CAS today and the challenge is a sketch!! I am also playing along with Addicted to Stamps - Make Your Mark Challenge. I was flipping through my stamps and i decided to play with new Tea Par-tea set from The Alley Way Stamps.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I started by stamping the tea pot and tea cup on watercolor paper. I used my distress markers and water to color the images by just drawing a light line around the inner edges, then adding water and working the ink out toward the middle of the image. To make areas darker, i would add more marker and just a bit of water. Once everything was colored and dry i cut them out.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i found some green polka-dot pattern paper that i thought went well with the tea pot. I trimmed it down and following the sketch added some twine and tied it in a bow. (you can see that i moved the elements of the sketch down, rather then it being in the middle). Then i adhered the panel to a white card base.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I added the tea pot and cup to my card with foam tape. For the sentiment i first die cut a banner and then stamped 'You're Tea-riffic' on it. I also added it to my card base with foam tape.

I hope you have a great day!!!

You're a Deer

Hello!

Happy Monday!! Hopefully everyone has a great week! The next two weeks will busy for me with class, thanksgiving, work and a project i have to get done over the next two weeks.... so i've been busy in the craft room getting all my projects done for the next 2 weeks so i can get the posts created and spend most of my time getting my project done!

Today i'm sharing a card i made for My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge. I need to add some Christmas cards to my stash and i am loving the MFT Jingle All the Way set, so the challenge is a good excuse to use them!! Here's the sketch:

I was going to use pattern paper and had a panel cut out and two corners rounded, but eventually i decided not to use it. Instead i traced the panel with a black pen on my Kraft card base. I placed a MFT stencil over my card base and i pounced a ink applicator over the stencil with white ink. I placed a piece of scrap paper along my black edges so i would only have the stencil pattern inside my black lines.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things
Next i die cut and stamped the little deer from the Jingle All The Way stamp set. I colored him with Copic markers (yes, i splurged a few weeks ago and got a few more colors, browns and blues). I die cut a heart from pattern paper and then stamped and embossed the sentiment.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - My Favorite Things

I cut a strip of stripped pattern paper and notched one end. I added a strip of kraft card stock to the center of the pattern paper and then i added it to my card base. I added the heart with foam tape, then the little deer. Last i added a couple plastic snowflakes with red sequins on top.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful week!!

Hand-Stitched Gift

Hello,

I'm stopping by to share a card i made for The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. When i saw that the photo inspiration had pin cushions in it, i knew exactly what stamp set i was going to use!! The Alley Way Stamps In Stitches set has a pin cushion, i pulled out a little snowflake paper to make a card to go along with a handmade stitch gift.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I started by stamping the pin cushion on a blue/grey snowflake pattern paper then cutting it out. I also stamped it on a tan snowflake patter paper, just cutting the cushion top out which i adhered to the blue/grey cushion.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I cut a stitched oval and then stamped the 'A Hand-Stitched Gift' sentiment. I added the pin cushion with foam tape, then set the oval aside. Next i added a strip of the blue/grey pattern paper along the right side, then added the tan snowflake paper to the rest of the card base.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I used a few snowflakes from the Winter's Butterflies set and stamped around where the edge of the oval would be. Next i added the oval with foam dots and for a final touch added a few matching enamel dots.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Oh, i almost forgot, i used the Gabfest set to spell out and stamp For You on the inside of the card. I also added a couple snowflakes!!

Merry & Bright

Hi there!!!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!! Next week is Thanksgiving!! I have a love/hate relationship with Thanksgiving, one one hand i love the family time and a big dinner, on the other hand it means work because i have a retail job that makes me think fondly of my old full time 8-5, weekends off and holiday's off office job!!! But then i remember just 2 more years i'll have a degree and a holiday's off!!!!

So anyway on to the card! I made this card for Virginia's View's Challenge #9 - All Things Metallic

I started by die cutting the flower from a gold metallic card stock. I also die cut it from a dark green card stock, which i then cut off the leaves and added them over the gold leaves. I adhered the whole thing on black card stock, then i trimmed off the excess card stock. I also used some gold smooch to color the flower center.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

For my background i used The Alley Way Stamps Line Upon Line stamp set. I colored it up with a red distress marker, spritz it with pearlized water and stamped it on water color paper. I trimmed it up and added it to a dark brown card base.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I stamped the sentiment (from the TAWS All Wrapped Up set) along the bottom. Then i used foam tape to adhere the flower and as a last metallic touch i added gold enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Waffle Flower Challenge October/November 2014 Take Two

Hi!!

I'm stopping by today because its half way through the Waffle Flower October/November Challenge! There is still plenty of time to play along!! We have two different challenges, do one or the other or both!! There is a photo inspiration challenge and a designer challenge!

For this card i did the designer challenge: White Space!! I started by die cutting a circle from a post it note. I placed the negative on a white card base. I also placed post it notes around the circle post it, so i wouldn;t get any extra ink on my card base. However the corners were not covered and of course the bottom left corner got ink on it!!! (sigh!!)

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower Crafts

So i started inking up the circle with a light blue distress ink, then layered a darker blue at the bottom. Last i added just a touch of black ink to the bottom of the circle. Next i peeled away all the post it notes (and here is when i found out about that one corner with ink on it!!! :P)

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower Crafts

Next i wanted to add some embossed images to my circle. First i used my anti-static bag, and liberally applied the powder to the circle. Then i stamped up the reindeer and a couple snowflakes from the Holiday Labels - Merry Stamp set with versamark ink. I added white embossing and melted it with my heat gun. Even with the anti-static bag some embossing powder stuck to the ink, however it wasn;t much and to me it looks like snow!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower Crafts

Once the embossing was cool, i added glossy accents to the circle and yes that is a lot of glossy accents AND my hand hurt like heck squeezing the bottle!! Then added a pinch of glitter to the wet glossy accents. While that was set aside (like way aside so i wouldn't accidentally mess it up!!!) i inked up the snow globe base from the Merry set and stamped it in black ink.

Inside the base i stamped Joy in black ink and To The World in blue ink. I cut it out and when the glossy accents was dry i added it to my circle with foam dots. And wa-la a snow globe on your card!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower Crafts

Ok so now i have to address the ink on the corner! Just rounding the corner wouldn;t work, so i trimmed off probably about a quarter of an inch off the bottom. Then i decided to add the same ink i used on the globe along the bottom of a card base. I added the panel the globe was on to the base with foam tape. Since the challenge is white space i didn;t do anything else, in fact i put it in a clear bag so nothing would get on it!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you will stop by the Waffle Flower Challenge and play along with us!!!
