Art Impressions Challenge #223

Hello!

Art Impression has a new release, New Work & Play, and Funny Farm!! My card features the new Work & Play clear stamp set!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by stamping the women on white cardstock, then stamped the little sunglasses on some scrap paper. Then I used my Spectrum Noir ColourBlend pencils to color them up. I fussy cut out the sunglasses but used a stitched rectangle for the woman.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

For the sentiment, I die cut a small stitched rectangle and then stamped the sentiment You're Really Going Places. I found some cool pattern paper that went with the summery travel theme I have going on adding it to an aqua card base.

I added some gold washi tape, then layered on the image and sentiment with foam tape. Last I added the sunglasses.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Duo

Hello AI fans!!

I'm on the Art Impressions with two Christmas cards, I used Ugly Sweater and Cheers to You. These were the color at about the same time, so I decided to similar backgrounds with them by splitting up a watercolor panel and using some pattern papers!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
First, I stamped the images and used my Spectrum Noir markers to color them up. I used AG1, AG3, AG5, CT1, CT4, DR4, DR6, DR7, IG2, IG4, RB1, RB2, RB4, Black. Then I used some basic circles to cut them out.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
For the background, I cut a panel of watercolor cardstock and did some ink smooshing with Distress Ink, Barn Door & Peeled Paint. I also used some splatters of black from a black ink spray I happened to have on my desk!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

While that dried I stamped the sentiments for each card, one on a small die cut circle. The other from a strip of cardstock that I notched one end.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
When the watercolor panel was dry I cut it in half, but at an angle. That way each card gets half a watercolor panel. I added some pattern paper to the other half of each card, each one getting their own pattern.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

The pattern paper was added directly to each card base and the watercolor half was added with foam tape. Last, I just added each stamped circle and the matching sentiment!

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Card 2

Hello!!

Today I have another card for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!! I managed to up another card for the hop ... because .... well when you're in the mood to create, you do!! Especially when Finals Week is looming and you know you will not get any card making done during said week!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - W Plus 9 Designs
I'm writing this up last night, which means Finals Week, Day 1 is done!!! This is also going to be short and sweet because I have to get back to studying for today's exams!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - W Plus 9 Designs

For my card, I decided to some watercolor stamping, first some smooshing on watercolor card stock. Then I used W Plus 9 - Heartfelt Holiday stamp set and stamped the oval wreath.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - W Plus 9 Designs

Next, I used the matching dies to the set along with the dies and stamps to Pretty Poinsettias and watercolored some flowers, a cup, stocking, and a snowman. Oh, and I used my Distress Markers for the stamping.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - W Plus 9 Designs

After it had all dried I layered everything around the wreath, some directly to the card, others I popped on foam tape. Rounded the corners and added it to a white cardbase!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Don't forget to link up your Winter Coffee themed project!!

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop 2017

Hello!!

It's time for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!! Yay!!! Link your winter coffee/tea/hot coco themed project for your chance to win some great goodies!! There is a great list of sponsors and over course tons of coffee inspiration!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
I started my card off with the background using an embossing folder to get a letterpress like look! Know, I have to admit that I went this way because I'm lazy! It's finals week next week so everything I've been doing has been with time in mind!!! It's also the look that you get when you use the magnetic platform with my Big Shot. I just didn't want to get out my extra long regular platform or my Gemini for that really strong emobossing!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

But anyway, I really like how it turned out regardless! I used Crafter's Companions Contemparay Fold embossing folder and ink up one side with Hero Arts Red Royal ink. I love the faux letterpress look that resulted!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
Orginially I was going to stamp the cup red, and do an all red card, but decided it would pop better in green. So I stamped the coffee cup from Echo Park Paper's But First Coffee stamp set with Papertrey Ink Ripe Avocado. I used my MISTI so I could ink it multiple times since I was using CC's watercolor cards stock and its textured. I used it for the background and wanted all the white to match.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

For the sentiment I used Avery Elle's Noel stamp set and stamped the Noel in the same red mentioned above. I also stamped a cluster of berries in the set. Then I trimmed the sentiment and notched each end and fussy cut out the berries.  I wrapped some red & white bakers twine around the cup and added the berries under the bow. Last I added the cup and sentiment to the card with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you will play along with us! Can't wait to see all the winter coffee projects!!

I started with some Echo Park Paper Co pattern paper, that is a colorful sheet of music! Perfect for my howl-ling, I mean singing pooches!! I stamped said pooches on some white cardstock and then colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers. I used: AB1, AB3, AG1, AG3, AG5, BO2, BO3, BP6, BP7, CR8, CR11, CT4, DP1, DP3, EB1, EB2, EB6, EB5, IG1, IG3, IG6, IG8, IG10, OR3, TN2, TN6.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Then I cut out the image with a stitched oval. I also cut a much smaller oval from some white cardstock. I stamped the Happy Howl-day's! sentiment on the smaller oval.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I added the pattern paper to a white card base and then adhered the colored oval with foam tape. The sentiment oval was added with adhesive to the right of the image. Last I scattered a few sequins across the card for a little sparkle.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
My card features one of the new Girlfriend sets. I stamped the image on some watercolor and then used Distress Markers to color it. With a stitched rectangle I cut the image out, along with a much smaller rectangle that I then stamped the sentiment.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Luckily I had some Christmas paper that matched, using another stitched rectangle to cut it out. I placed it on a black card base, then layered a strip of red pattern paper over it.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Then I added the stamped image and the sentiment with foam tape. I decided to not add enamel dots or sequins because it's really all about the image!!

My card features the new Santa Paws set!! This set is sooooooooo adorable!!! If you are a dog lover or know dog lovers you are going to need this set!!

I started by stamping the three single dogs from the set and using my Spectrum Noir Markers to color them up. I used: AP1, AP2, AP3, BT2, CR2, CR4,  DR4, DR6, IG1, IG2, IG4, TN1, TN2. Then I fuss cut them each out.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

From a Christmas pad I picked up on clearance last year I mixed and matched different patterns for the background and the tag. Each card got a background pattern and a tag pattern.

I added the dogs to each tag and either stamped the sentiment on the tag or on a banner that was added to the tag. Each tag also was topped with some brown bakers twine.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Each background paper was cut with a stitched rectangle die and added to a white card base. Then I added the tags with the dogs and sentiments. I kept it pretty simple since the pattern papers are busy. With AI's snowflake die I did add gold snowflakes to the dachshund card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Stop by AI's blog with your own tag to win some great prizes!

3rd Annual STAMPlorations Giving Thanks Blog Hop

Hello!

This is my second post today, if you are looking for my Art Impressions post, click here.

If you arrived here from the wonderfully talented Cornelia Wenokor you are in the right place!!

Welcome to STAMPlorations 3rd Annual Giving Thanks, Blog Hop! I'm so happing to be a guest designer representing the Coffee Loving Card Makers!! (check back tomorrow for some more STAMPlorations & Coffee goodness!!)

Even though any time is okay to be grateful and/or thankful, it's just that kind of season with it being fall and Thanksgiving around the corner! Even with life's hardships, there are always things to be thankful, even the small things! I am so thankful for all my crafty friends, family and most especially my mom! I am currently in a Bachelor program and it is happening in a big part to my mom!!

Okay, on to my card!! I started with STAMPlorations Tag O'Coffee die set and cut some masking paper with the coffee dies. From watercolor cardstock I used a stitched rectangle die to cut a panel.

Next, I placed my mask with the coffee dies taken out, the negative I think. I started with the coffee one in the center, using Distress Ink Frayed Burlap, Tea Dye and a tiny bit of Walnut Stain. I did the same thing with the coffee cup with the straw, one on each side of the cup.

I used Frayed Burlap to ink all around the edge of the panel, leaving the center mostly white. With Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate ink I stamped one of the sentiments from STAMPlorations Words of Gratitude over the center coffee. It says Let Our Lives Be Full of Both Thanks & Giving.

Then I added a bit of water to some Walnut Stain and added some splatters all over the panel. While that dried I thought about added some enamel dots or sequins, but after trying them out I really preferred the card without them!

Thank you so much for hopping along! Your next stop is the wonderful Amy Almeida!! If you get lost or find a broken link or find more info on some the fabulous giveaway, check out the start of the hop at STAMPlorations!

Coloring With Hero Arts Ink

Hello!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today with cards featuring some no line coloring using the Long Horn set and the Armadillos Set. Originally I was going to use my Distress Markers to color the images, but as I was deciding what ink to use with my no line coloring picked out some Hero Arts ink and used them to color the images.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
Since the Hero Art inks are a dye ink I thought they would act similar to other dye inks. But this was not the case. Coloring with the ink was a bit of challenge, it dried quickly and didn't spread as easily, but I made it worked and I really liked how it turned out!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I stamped both images on watercolor cardstock with Hero Arts Cup of Joe after stamping it off first. Then I used the following Hero Arts inks to color the images: Cup of Joe, Butter Bar, Soft Apricot, Fresh Peach, Green Hills.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

With a stitched rectangle I cut out each image and then used Frayed Burlap Distress Ink to ink up each pannels, even over the images a little bit. This made the cardstock a little less white. I picked out some western-esk pattern paper and inked the edges with the Frayed Burlap. From my stash, I found some denim fabric tape and added it to each panel.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
With Papertrey Ink's Classic Kraft (stamped twice) I stamped the sentiment on each panel. I also found some wood embellishments and I added them and the colored images to each panel. last I adhered each panel to a white card base.

You've Goat This

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today! If you need or like making funny cards the Old Goat set is just what you need!! Today's card has a bit of masculine feel and it's all because of the pattern paper I picked out!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started with Crate Paper Cool Kid pattern paper pad and picked out a pattern for the background, along with another matching pattern that I die cut out with a notepad die cut. I did the same with some white cardstock.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Then I stamped the four goats in a row and then colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers. I used EB6, EB7, IG1, IG2, IG4, IG6, IG5, MB1, MB2, RB1, RB2, RB3. Then I fussy cut them out with sharp scissors.

I adhered the background pattern paper on a white card base. Then I stamped You've Goat This on the white notepad. I added it and the pattern notepad to the card with foam tape. With more foam tape I added the goats! Can you tell I like my foam tape??? :)

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I thought the card still needed something so I went through my button collection and picked out a few that matched. I adhered them to the card and wa-la it was done!!
