Crafter's Companion on HSN - May 2nd

Hello!

Crafter's Companion is on HSN this coming Wednesday, May 2nd! Tons of great new products, you can check out the Show Guide to see them all!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
I started my card by adding a little Aqua Tint pen Moonstone to a piece acetate and added some water. Then I smooshed the panel into the ink and with a heat gun dried the panel. I did this one more time, then splattered some of the ink on a panel with a paintbrush.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

I used some matte silver cardstock in an embossing folder, running it through my die cutting machine. Next, I trimmed the panel down and added it to my watercolor panel.

With grey ink, I stamped the new Dragonfly stamp and then used my Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers to color it. I used BO2, CG2, CG3, CT4, LG3, LG5, LY1, LY3. Then I fussy cut it out. I added it and a couple clear sequins on the card.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Road Trip

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today with 2 cards, both featuring the Road Trip stamp set. With this set, I like to stamp all the images, sometimes more than once and color them all up. Then use them on the different cards, like I did with these two.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art impressions
I used my Spectrum Noir ColourBlend pencils to color all these images. Unfortunately, I lost my list of colors, but I did use a lot of the pencils, or at least it seems like I did!! LOL! After coloring I fussy cut out all the images.

For one card I used the car, suitcase and coffee cup. I picked out some pattern paper from Photo Play Paper Summer Dreams Collection and trimmed it down. From that same collection, there was a #weekends sticker that I used as a sentiment.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art impressions
I arranged the images on the pattern paper with foam tape and then added the sentiment sticker with foam tape. To make the sticker not stick anymore I use baby powder on the back, that way I can add the sticker with foam tape and not have it also stick to the card base. Last I added glitter octagon enamel dots.

The second card is an easy one, once the images are colored and cut! I used Tim Holtz Dot Fade Stencil and Distress Ink Salty Ocean to add a little interest to the background.

I added the images with foam tape and then stamped the sentiment Let's Have an Adventure on white cardstock. Then I cut out the sentiment and added it to the card with foam tape.

Just For You

Hello!

I'm sharing a card I made for fun and A Blog Called Hero Put A Flower On It Challenge. The challenge is pretty self-explanatory, use a flower(s) on your card!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hero Arts

I started with a black card base and used the Hero Arts Petals Pair stencil and Faber-Castell Texture Paste to create the background. I set it aside to dry.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hero Arts

Next, I stamped Hero Arts Antique Rose on watercolor cardstock and white heat embossed it. Then I used PTI reinkers like liquid watercolors to color the rose. I used Hibiscus Burst, Autumn Rose, and Scarlet Jewel.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hero Arts

I used Spring Moss and Simply Chartreuse to paint some simple leaves, then I fussy cut them out. From the Just For You by Lia stamp set I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in white. I cut it out into a simple rectangle.

When the background was dry I adhered the leaves and flower with liquid adhesive. Last I added the sentiment.

Art Impressions - Challenge 230

Hello!

It's the second week of Art Impression Challenge 230 - Good Goes Around! Easy peasy, just create an uplifting card with 'circles' somehow incorporated on or in your card!! AI also has a great new release of Circlet Mini Tryfolds! Basically Tryfolds in circle form! You can make a circle card or a regular rectangle card, your choice!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

My card today features the Cabin Circlet set and I made a circle tryfold card!! I folded some cardstock just like I would for a regular tryfold card. Then I went further and die cut the card with my largest circle die, the folded card needed to be just inside the die on the two folded sides. You can adjust the folding of your card based on the size of your circle die.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next, I stamped each of the circle landscapes on watercolor cardstock and used my Spectrum Noir AquaBlend pencils to color it. But instead of water I used a basic colorless blender, it acts like water without the water! I used the follow pencils on the images Parakeet, Pineapple, Black Umber, Anthracite, Regal Blue, Fossil Grey, Ginger, Ebony, Cypress, Apricot, Umber, Midnight Blue, Oregano.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Then I used smaller circles to die cut out each image, I did a little planning as for front image I wanted a frame for it. I used the biggest circle to cut out the pattern paper and then started adhering the paper and using the dies that come with the set to cut in the 'window' areas for the first two layers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Once I had everything cut and adhered I just trimmed the bottom of the circle card to make sure it would stand up okay.

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today! Warm weather has to come sometime, right??  The Pack Your Bags stamp set is a great way to get in the warmer weather mood!! Especially if it involves a vacation!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

There are some great images and sentiments in this set. I started by stamping the guy with the suitcases on a die cut circle. Then I used my Spectrum Noir ColourBlend pencils to color the image. I used the following pencils to color the image: Rose Red, Denim Blue, Royal Blue, Saddle Brown, Russet, Cream, Cider, Sage, Holly, Pewter, Black, Espresso

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next, I stamped the Pack Your Bags sentiment on a small circle die. I layered some pattern paper from Carta Bella - Ahoy There Collection over some gold glitter cardstock.

Then I added the stamped circle, but just a little off the card trimming off the overhang. Then I added the sentiment and a couple of wood ship themed circles.

I love the gazing up to the same stars sentiment so I decided to make a night sky. First I masked off a bit of the bottom and a frame around the top and sides. Then I layered Distress inks in the rectangle I made, I used Picked Raspberry and Peeled Paint, then added Black Soot on top. I added water on top to blend the colors, then hit it with a heat gun. I continued to add Black Soot, water and then heating it until I was happy with the look.

Next, I used white acrylic paint and flicked the paint. With a dried wipe I dabbed at the droplets, it kind of flattens out the platters. When that was dried I went in with a sparkle pen and added sparkly dots for a little shimmer.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Little Acres Creations

Then I stamped the cute mouse on the cup and used Distress Ink Picked Raspberry, Tea Dye and Walnut Stain to color the cup and mouse. With white ink, I stamped the It Helps to Know We're Gazing Up at The Same Stars.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Little Acres Creations

With the When I Miss You ... sentiment I masked off the When and stamped the rest at the bottom of the cup and then stamped just the When above the rest of the sentiment. I fussy cut the image and then added it the card with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by! Your next stop on the hop is the wonderful Katie Brooks!

Group Hug!

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions Blog today sharing two cards featuring the Bench Set! Figured I better get these up while its still winter! Well, maybe not technically still winter but here in Western Michigan in snowed 7 inches last week, soooo... I think these cards are still relevant!! LOL!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art ImpressionsDana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
To color both images I used my Spectrum Noir AquaBlend Watercolor pencils. I can't find my list of colors I used (I'm sure I'll find it next week!, LOL), but it was a lot! I usually color with a darker pencil for the shadows and lighter for the other areas. Instead of using water to activate the pencil, I used a colorless blender marker. You can pick up a basic one at Micheals, but know that it will stain your nib. After coloring I fussy cut out each image.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

For the first card, I used some blueish woodgrain pattern paper and added it to a white card base. Then I added a strip of brown cardstock and added the Bench image with foam tape.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I found a watercolor doily on my desk from another project and stamped the Group Hug sentiment. Then I added it to the top of the card with foam tape and trimmed off the excess. Last I added two snowflake brads, but I cut off the legs and used foam tape and glue to adhere them to the card.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

The second card I found some star constellation pattern paper and cut it with a stitched rectangle. Then I white embossed the sentiment Sending Hugs Your Way!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

From the same pattern paper, I added some colorful strip paper and then added the image with foam tape. This one I kept a little more simple buy not adding any embellishments.

Road Trip

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog featuring AI's Road Trip set! This set is great for travel cards or even scrapbook pages with travel themes!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started my card started with the stamp set, I stamped several of the images and then used my Spectrum Noir ColourBlend Pencils to color them. I can't find my list of pencils I used but it was a lot of different colors! These pencils are great for color, then blend wonderfully!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

After coloring I fussy cut out each of the images. I found a pretty pink map pattern paper from Fancy Pants Designs Trend Setter pad. I covered a white card base with it and picked out a solid sheet from the pad and notched one end of it.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next, I added three lines of gold polka dot washi tape and then added the notched panel with foam tape, but off to one side. Then I played around with the different buildings and how I arrange them. When I was happy I adhered them to the card, some with foam tape and others directly to the solid notched panel.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

For the sentiment, I stamped the Are We There Yet? and cut it out into a rectangle shape. Then I added it to the card.

Thanks for stopping by!!
